LexiconDon is Alex Koons from Seattle, WA, transplanted to LA. He comes from a hip-hop background, but his recent transformation into synth pop hookmaster was too much for us to ignore. He got to LA and just flipped his whole style up. He’s got plenty of that LA swagger, but his voice is straight Cure. It’s pretty hard to keep these songs out of your head. Binary artists Fabian and On Off On are behind the production on his songs.” [via aural sastisfaction]

First released in June on the indie label  Mono-Tone.  Hairglow is Hooverphonics  Alex Callier’s  solo effort. With  influences of Pet Shop Boys and disco ball shades the single “Let It Go”  will take you back to the eighties and we definitely can expect to be hearing it in the clubs on the “Westend”  if you have not already.

While researching the bands that are playing for this years Sunset Strip Music Fest we came across “The Ringers” not only do they rock but also have a good sense of fun! They claim to  take no prisoners and lay their hearts, souls, and sweat out for the world to soak up and rock to. They are the protectors of Rock Purity and have pledged to fight for its honour! Take our word whether its the mustaches or the samurai outfits they definitely are putting it all out there! The Ringers are a Los Angeles based rock n’ roll band. The Ringers are Joe Hursley (vocals, guitar), Joe Robinson (lead guitar), Joe Stiteler (bass), and Patrick Hursley (drums). They released their second full length album, “Headlocks and Highkicks” in August 2008 with Dave Cobb producing.   The band has also played shows with: New York Dolls, Lily Allen, Valient Thorr, Authority Zero, Supersuckers, Eagles of Death Metal, Semi Precious Weapons, The Architects, Camp Freddy, Bullets and Octane, Nico Vega, and Veruca Salt and many shows with other local LA bands like: Saint Motel, The Binges, Rumspringa, Roses on Her Grave, The Vacation, and Dirty Kings.
